Fix Error Code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found

If you have a NAS storage drive which can’t be detected on your windows computer I will show you a way on how to fix the error 0x80070035. it’s a very common error and can be a nightmare to fix if you don’t know how.

If you are running Microsoft Windows operating systems, it will allow your computer to share data and access data files on each other’s computer. But you could run into problems and see the message saying that Error code: 0x80070035. The network path was not found.

This error could be caused by many things, so I made a video to help you troubleshoot and get your problem solved!

1. Go to Local Policies – Security Options -Network security: and look for LAN Manager Network security: LAN Manager authentication level. Now change this to Send LM & NTLM-use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.
2. Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP:
. Go to “Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Connections”.
. Right-Click on the connection and choose Properties.
. Click “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 4”.
. Click Properties, and then click Advanced.
. On the Advanced TCP/IP settings windows, go to “WINS” tab.
. Under NetBIOS setting, click “Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP”, on all computers and then click OK.

3. Enable TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper in Services, also make sure it’s running.

4. Open regedit and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMSLicensing
Now delete HardwareID and Store keys.
(You can export these before you delete them if you wish)

  1. thanks, dude, eventually fixed issue AFTER i followed your vid and then had to RESTART my MODEM. then it worked fine. Thanx P.S fekn hate windows. far too complex. it must have taken you or someone else weeks to troll through all the possible issues.

  2. Followed these steps and it solved my problem after a full reset/refresh of my machine via Windows Settings. You're an absolute legend mate. Microsoft support are so absolutely useless.

  3. Braco!! You are my hero for the day. I have taken days to try and sort out the mapping problem. Thanks for your clear and practical video.

  4. I just did everything including for windows pro and NOTHING. This NAS station worked fine with windows xp, but it won't with windows 10 pro. I can see it on the network but I can't map the drive.

  5. Surely someone can produce a simple app to do all this at the click of a button. In any case, what kind of a company creates such problems for their customers?

  6. Still haveing prob and I did everything in video and still nothing works I even did it on my other computer but my other computer doesn’t have local security so please I need help

  7. It worked! thanks a lot:
Go to Local Policies – Security Options -Network security: and look for LAN Manager Network security: LAN Manager authentication level. Now change this to Send LM & NTLM-use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.

  8. BRO YOU ARE A FLIPPIN LEGEND!! I STRUGGLED FOR WEEKS WITH THIS ERROR AND YOU JUST FIXED IT!!

THANK YOU! NEVER STOP MAKING VIDEOS AND HELPING PEOPLE

  9. From a win10 home laptop I can see 4 computers on my network (win7 PC, win8 PC, iMac, laptop). This tutorial helped with accessing the windows PC's. Any advice on accessing the iMac? It seems to be windows version dependent since the win7 PC can access the Imac with no problems.

  10. Nothing of the above-mentioned worked for me, but luckily I found a solution. I'll put it here just in case:

In "Local Group Policy Editor" – Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation – Enable insecure guest logons: Not configured (by default) switch to Enabled

Weird that it was the "Error 0x80070035 The network path was not found" pop-up and not the one saying that unauthenticated guest access is blocked by security policies.

  11. I followed the video and successfully copied everything on my WIndow's pro computer. I restarted. No luck, still have the same error code. I went over everything again, everything perfect as described in your video. It just didn't work.
I'm trying to connect to Huawei Mate 20 phone – It appears as a network drive like any other computer. Before I re-installed Windows, It connected fine

Finally, I looked at my Windows Firewall Control. Windows Explorer.exe fixed the problem. Woohoo.

  12. Funcionó. He resuelto el problema de acceso al NAS siguiendo las instrucciones de este video. Gracias!

  13. Thanks for this video. Unfortunately I'm still stuck with error 0x80070035. I have already worked through your other video on "The network path was not found". Anything else I can try except for fresh installation of Win 10 Pro 64-bit?

  14. So i followed the video until you said to select your ethernet connection, i do not have an ethernet connection and the problem was not fixed after doing it through my wifi connection. Please help!
